Favourites Friday #65: Songs of {sorta} Spring

As we welcomed March this week, I expected Spring to peek it’s head out and welcome us with greenery and sunshine.

Instead it’s been grey and rainy.

To keep my mood up – and my long car rides fun – I have a playlist in my car of songs I love to sing along to and will always belt. I thought today I would share it as they are truly wonderful songs that my broken singing voice actually can pull off. Happy Friday!Read More

Artists I Know You’ll Love

Let’s talk about music. We all have different tastes. Only the other day I posted in the Facebook group for my freshman class what kind of music everyone likes and no two people had the same answers. We are all attracted to different genres and voices and lyrics. And so I thought today I’d share with you some music that I love that I think you might like too.

I Listen to a Lot of British Artists: A Musical Compositon

If you don’t love Adele, I don’t want to breathe the same air as you. She has more soul than I thought was possible and her music is beautiful.

Andy Grammar

This man just makes the best music. My friend Kelsi and I will play his station on Slacker whenever we go on long drives. Andy makes catchy music that has a great message.

The Beatles

Need I say anything? It’s the Beatles.

My Road Trip Playlist

This month is my big month of travel. Last week I went to Eugene for freshman orientation, this week I go to the coast with my best friend Katy, and the week after that I go to Portland for a  Bruno Mars concert! So, all in all, I’m going to be on the road a lot this month. And car rides are so boring without appropriate music, so I have my own Road Trip Playlist on my phone that provides several hours of fantastic car music. And I thought I’d share it with you.

Accidentally in Love – Counting Crows

All About You – McFly

Animal – Neon Trees

Anything Could Happen – Ellie Goulding

Army of Two – Olly Murs

My Favorite Music Videos #2

Here is part two of my favorite music videos! If you haven’t seen PART ONE CLICK HERE. These videos are humorous, serious, and overall ones that I really enjoy.

The treadmill video! Fun fact, my mum used to babysit the guy in the pink shirt!

Kind of serious, but I love the mannequins! Sorry for the awful quality. This video was impossible to find!

The hamster balls, the crazy driving, no parent supervision. It’s every parent’s nightmare.

It just looks so cool!

The Best Videos of My Week #2

Hola Internet friends!

I know I have been absolute crap at posting regularly this week but I have good reason! My life has recently become more hectic with an overload of school work and general life things, so I’m really sorry that it is all of you that have to suffer. However, if you miss me so much that you still want to keep up with me, make sure to follow me on Twitter (@teenenthusiasm) to get all of my enthusiasms for the week! (Currently I’m asking all of you on how I can date Harry Styles. If you have the answer, tell me there!)

Anyway, on to relevant information, I thought I’d once again do a ‘Best Videos of My Week’ because so many great videos came out this week and so many interesting things happened. Haylor broke up, Charlieissocoollike and Bryarly made a video, Tom Fletcher released his wedding speech. It’s been a good week, and so now I’m going to share my favorite videos from it with you!

This video was my absolute favorite. Because for the entire video I’m thinking, “She does know they broke up, right? She’s going to be so embarrassed if she doesn’t.” And then the end happens and I just about pee my pants. DailyGrace, why are all of your videos hilarious?

They are just both so cute and funny and I just love them. Plus, I like how Bryarly knows almost all of the terms and Charlie is confused for the entire video. We obviously know who spends more time analyzing lyrics.

Some Musical Questions

I found this questionnaire on Bomb in a Birdcage. Katie’s questionnaire is quite a bit different than mine. So, let’s start!

Pick 10 artists you love before answering the questions

  1. McFLY
  2. One Night Only
  3. Ellie Goulding
  4. Adele
  5. Elvis Costello
  6. Florence + the Machine
  7. Michael Buble
  8. Mika
  9. Two Door Cinema Club
  10. Scouting for Girls

What was the first song you ever heard by 6?

The Dog Days Are Over. I’m not a huge mainstream music person, so I discovered this song way after everyone else. But when I hear a song that I just click with, like this, it becomes my job for the next few hours to search the artist and find all the other songs I like.

What is your favorite song of 8?

Good Gone Girl. I find that this song is almost about me. I’m an innocent person who was stuck in this world with drugs and sex trafficking and theft and it seems that Mika is asking me how I got there. This song is absolutely fantastic.

What kind of an impact has 1 left on your life?

McFLY has been my favorite band since I was in 8th grade. That’s three years. They sort of helped me grow up in a way. They’ve gone through all these difficult parts of growing up and that has to impact you in some way, right?

What are your favorite lyrics of 5?

“Forget your fancy manners, forget your English grammar, because you don’t really give a damn about this year’s girl.”

Elvis Costello “This Year’s Girl”

How many times have you seen 4 live?

I have not seen her live yet. But I would love to. That would be a really fantastic show I believe.

What is your favorite song by 7?

Hollywood. Whenever that song comes on the radio I start dancing. I am a danger to drivers everywhere.

Is there a song by 3 that makes you sad?

Yes. The Writer makes me sad because it reminds me of fighting with people who I have differences with.

What is your favorite song by 9?

Something Good Can Work. I ran across this band on iTunes when they had this song for free. This song just makes me feel that, in my darkest moments, everything really is going to work out fine.

How did you get into 3?

Her boyfriend is Greg James, who I adore, and I listen to him on BBC Radio 1 every morning. Well, I Wikipedia-ed him and found out they were dating and searched her on iTunes. And I’ve loved her ever since.

What is your favorite song by 4?

Rolling in the Deep. No question.

How many times have you seen 2 live?

Zero. They’ve only toured in America once and it was on the other side of the country. But I will see them live. It’s on my bucket list.

What is a good memory concerning 10?

One of their songs was in a movie I loved and I was watching it one day and my brother came in the room, san the song, and then left. If you know my brother then you’d understand why it was so great.

Is there a song by 8 that makes you sad?

Happy Ending. It just reminds me that eventually we will all die. And that is kind of sad.

What is your favorite song by 1?

Star Girl. I have hooked so many people to this song. I love it because I love the story behind it, I love the catchy upbeat tune, and I love that it reminds me that one day there will be someone who will be singing this to me.

And that’s the questionnaire. Thanks for reading! You have all been great! And feel free to ask other questions (even non-music related) to me. I love doing questionnaires.

Until next time!

My Favorites as of This Day

It’s the beginning of April and I’ve realized that I really haven’t given you all a real good look inside my brains as to what my favorite things are. So, without further ado, here are some of my favorite things.

FAVORITE MUSIC VIDEO – Girls and Boys in Love

Nothing is more entertaining than a bunch of people coming out of the ground!

FAVORITE BOOK – The Perks of Being a Wallflower

I would be lying if I didn’t admit what a wonderful piece of American literature this is. Full of angst, love and confusion, even J.D. Salinger can’t beat this.

It’s warm, comfortable and you can wear it a million different ways!

Both are British, have great pop/rock songs, and know how to make a pretty eye-catching album cover.

Did no one else watch ‘The Brave Little Toaster’? That movie is absolutely the reason I think toasters are so incredibly epic.

If you would like to know more of my favorites, please say so in the comments. And if you have ideas for other blog posts, post those below too. I love to do blogging challenges, so feel free to say whatever!
