#EnthusiastChristmas In Review

How was everyone’s Christmas? Was it as full of joy as Ol’ Saint Nick himself?

Over in my end it was lovely. Time with family is always great, even when timing gets a little changed due to cancelled flights. But after years of little airline drama, I knew it had to come to an end sometime.

As we round out this Christmas year with throwing away wrappings and kissing relative’s cheeks, let’s look back at the Instagram challenge I did this month to relive all the cheer!Read More

Welcome to 25 Days of Christmas Enthusiasm!

I love Christmas. I love Christmas so much that I’m basically bursting with sugar cookie sugarplums and Christmas carols all month long!

For the last few years I have done an Instagram challenge for 25 days of December with a holiday/Chrsitmas theme because what better way to celebrate the best time of the year!

This year’s challenge begins tomorrow, December 1st. It will continue until the 25th. The objective? To complete as many of the days as you can. And it’s pretty easy considering some days are Choose Your Own. What do you do? Post a photo with that day’s theme and use the hashtag #EnthusiastChristmas. If you use the hashtag I can find your photos!

I’ve been doing this challenge for so long now that I always look forward to it! Here’s some photos from past years:

See, pretty easy! And this year I’m so excited because I’m doing the challenge in Portland this year!

Here are the 25 Days of Christmas Enthusiasm day themes, to be followed:

I hope you’ll along and keep up with #EnthusiastChristmas, but if you don’t, check out my Instagram @PotatoesHegarty to see what fun I’m up to all December long!

Want to stay up to date with all of my crazy shenanigans, what movies I’m watching, and how to live the best life ever? Add me on Snapchat: PotatoesHegarty

A Christmas Post

A week off of blogging meant I spent the week with family and friends celebrating the jolliest time of the year and reconnecting with my favourite people.

Christmas is seriously the best time of the year, which is why celebrating it makes me so happy! It’s more than just cranberry treats and opening gifts, it’s joy to all and kindness in our souls. The holiday season means opening your heart to everyone and focusing on what is really important.

Have a holly jolly Hegarty Christmas! 🎄

Whether you belong to a denomination or not, I hope that the Christmas season fills you with joy and love. Hopefully you baked some cookies, played Christmas music, spent quality time with friends and family, and enjoyed some time off from the grind. We all need that in our lives, even if only for a short while.Read More

What a Filter Can Do: My Instagram Photo Realities

The other day my mother sent me this article and I laughed for a solid 15 minutes because of how accurate it is! While I am not the world’s most amazing Instagrammer (I forget to take pictures, unless I want to look cool or prove I have a life) but I agreed with every word Olivia said. The pictures you post on Instagram say one thing, but the reality behind them says another. Because while I look like a cool hipster with ombré hair who drinks tea and has interesting reading taste, I’m really just a dork who was allowed on social media.

This all said, I thought I would show you all the realities of my Instagram photos because like it or not, my life actually does not come in Early Bird filter style.

1. The Professional Photo

My Photo Says:

Wow, look at how professional I am. Look at all those books that I’ve read and that notebook that I’ve obviously taken very important notes in. I mean complete business. This girl is ready to take on the world because she knows how to run a professional, clean office.

I Say:

Do you know how difficult it was to climb under all the deck furniture in my living room (house painting, whoo!) and get this lamp, unplug it, and haul it into the home office?  Not to mention the hundreds of catalogs that had to be moved before I could even place my laptop there. I haven’t read any of those books, they aren’t even mine. Then again, I don’t think my mom’s read all of them either. I don’t have my life together, I just wanted to look nice for my video conference (of which I did not get the job I was applying for.)Read More

A Month of Christmas Cheer in Review

Hola Internet!

The holidays are still in full swing, even though Christmas is behind us. And that’s sad, because Christmas is a wonderful time. So, to make sure we don’t lose all that holly jolly, let’s take a look at our Month of Christmas Cheer Instagram Challenge to remember what a great month we’ve had.

I’ll see you all again before the end of the year, when we review what an amazing time we’ve had and how thankful I am for where you all put me on the Internet map.

Stay classy Internet,

A Month of Christmas Cheer Instagram Challenge

I am a huge fan of Christmas. There, I’ve said it.

I think Christmas is a great time of the year, and December is all about Christmas and cheer and holidays and just being a kind person. All of these are things that are important to me.

Now, I’ve seen a lot of Instagram challenges over the last few days. If you don’t know what an Instagram challenge is, it’s where for a certain amount of days (usually for a whole month) you follow a list of pictures that you post to Instagram.

So, I’ve combined these two ideas (Christmas and Instagram challenges) and made my own challenge. I know there are already a lot of Christmas Instagram challenges, but as I am a leader and not a follower, I’m making my own.

Below is my Month of Christmas Cheer Instagram Challenge. If you would like to see all my pictures, be sure to follow me on Instagram (@morganmckay). And if you want to do the challenge also, be sure to hashtag your photos #monthofchristmas so that I can see them!
