Well hello there! After a little time away, I am back for the 100th Favourites Friday.
It’s time to buy a gift for _____ and you know they like _____ but what do you buy them? Luckily, there’s a gift guide for that.
What gift should I buy for them? Put away your list, all your gifts this year are covered.
How was everyone’s Christmas? Was it as full of joy as Ol’ Saint Nick himself?
Over in my end it was lovely. Time with family is always great, even when timing gets a little changed due to cancelled flights. But after years of little airline drama, I knew it had to come to an end sometime.
Having trouble getting into the Christmas spirit this year? I have the trick to getting you from bah humbug to jingle bells!
Well, I asked for it, and I got it – a white Christmas.
There is an inch on the ground – which might as well be a foot in Portland – and I have decided to spend my weekend snuggled in fleece blankets and eating Trader Joe’s shortbread cookies. Sounds pretty good to me.
This week was long and I am glad to be done with it so I can look forward to a weekend of relaxation and finally getting my eyebrows waxed. Seriously, moving to a new city means spending forever finding an aesthetician for your brows. Especially when they are as wonky as mine. So I thought I would spend this week’s Favourites Friday sharing the things that I have been looking forward to this weekend.Read More
It’s time again for…The Christmas Tag!
I created The Christmas Tag a few years ago and I love redoing it every year and seeing how Christmas changes for me. And the onslaught of people who have tried the tag makes me smile, because everyone is in the Christmas spirit!
Let’s see what this year’s answers bring:Read More
One of the best parts of the holiday season is the movies. There’s something about the wholesome jolly that are Christmas films. And when it gets to December they are all I watch!
Since it is Monday and I will likely spend after work watching movies and drinking hot chocolate, I thought I would share my favourite films for the holiday season!Read More
I love Christmas. I love Christmas so much that I’m basically bursting with sugar cookie sugarplums and Christmas carols all month long!
For the last few years I have done an Instagram challenge for 25 days of December with a holiday/Chrsitmas theme because what better way to celebrate the best time of the year!
This year’s challenge begins tomorrow, December 1st. It will continue until the 25th. The objective? To complete as many of the days as you can. And it’s pretty easy considering some days are Choose Your Own. What do you do? Post a photo with that day’s theme and use the hashtag #EnthusiastChristmas. If you use the hashtag I can find your photos!
I’ve been doing this challenge for so long now that I always look forward to it! Here’s some photos from past years:
See, pretty easy! And this year I’m so excited because I’m doing the challenge in Portland this year!
Here are the 25 Days of Christmas Enthusiasm day themes, to be followed:
I hope you’ll along and keep up with #EnthusiastChristmas, but if you don’t, check out my Instagram @PotatoesHegarty to see what fun I’m up to all December long!

A week off of blogging meant I spent the week with family and friends celebrating the jolliest time of the year and reconnecting with my favourite people.
Christmas is seriously the best time of the year, which is why celebrating it makes me so happy! It’s more than just cranberry treats and opening gifts, it’s joy to all and kindness in our souls. The holiday season means opening your heart to everyone and focusing on what is really important.
Whether you belong to a denomination or not, I hope that the Christmas season fills you with joy and love. Hopefully you baked some cookies, played Christmas music, spent quality time with friends and family, and enjoyed some time off from the grind. We all need that in our lives, even if only for a short while.Read More
