Movie Monday: Morgan's Recommendations

Movie Monday

Who’s ready for Movie Monday? I know I am!

Because I love movies I’m always looking for new recommendations that will keep my cinephile brain pleased. And I’m sure there are lots of people who are exactly the same. One of the best parts of film is getting to share it with others! That’s why I thought I’d share with you all some films that I recommend everyone watch. Trust me, you’ll be filling your Netflix at-home queue in no time!

Morgan’s Movies, ala Recommendations You’ll Definitely Watch

Notting Hill

Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant do a fantastic job of playing off one of the most interesting romances I’ve seen in so long. Julia Roberts basically plays herself (famous movie actress) and Hugh Grant plays the owner of a small travel bookshop in Notting Hill. Watching their romance grow and face many issues (mostly caused by Roberts’ character) is just fun, and Grant’s roommate is hilarious. Classic British film and definitely worth a watch.Read More

Books I Know You’ll Love

You know what I haven’t done in a while? Recommendations!

I built this blog on talking about the things I enjoy and I haven’t made lists of books or movies that I suggest you read/watch. Let’s change that, yeah?

I’ve been very bad this summer. While I usually spend most of it curled on the couch or on a towel reading novel after novel, I have failed to do so this summer. Maybe it’s because it’s uncomfortably hot or that I am finally finding other ways to occupy myself during the summer. But that’s not a valid excuse as I love reading and I have spent far too much time not losing myself in a good book.

In high school I did a lot of reading. Books that made me laugh, cry, etc. So I now present to you my master list of books that I am taking with me to university because I never want them to leave my sight, they are that good. I hope you will give these books a chance and if you do end up reading them or have read them, give me a comment or shoot me an email (teenenthusiasm@gmail.com) and we can have a chat about them!

Inspirational/Biographical Films to Watch

Lately I’ve been watching some truly inspirational/biographical films that have been bloody brilliant! If you would like to be inspired or watch a biography, keep on reading

NOWHERE BOY – John Lennon’s teenage years (1955-1960) and the creation of his first band and the beginning of the Beatles. I watched this last night and was blown away.

imageINTO THE WILD – During my huge Emile Hirsch obsession, I watched this and it really is a film to watch. I almost ran away to Alaska myself.

image CATCH ME IF YOU CAN – Leonardo DiCaprio does a fantastic job as the best con the world had seen at that time. Plus, he looks quite spiffy in his military outfit.

image MY ONE AND ONLY – For all of you have ever moved, watch this and realize that you probably don’t have it as bad as George. But this really is a great story with fantastic actors.

image And those are some of the great inspirational/biographical movies that I’ve been watching lately. Please watch them and come back and tell me what you thought of them. Thanks so much for reading. Cheers!
