There are some weeks where when I hit Friday I think, “Well, I deserve this weekend.” And this week was one of those. From an insane amount of work and changing deadlines, to a terrifying nightmare, to still unpacking, I am ready for a weekend of friends and food.
I can tell you all I am doing this weekend: Unpacking, drinking Vitamin C, and sleeping. That’s right, as I come to the end of my move, I am sick.
The weekend is almost here! Which means in less than 48 hours I will be moved into my new apartment and using a stove that was made more recently than 1970!
Have you ever felt the need to hit refresh on your life? That was me this week. Tired, grungy, and not in the mood to deal with any responsibilities. But, as all twenty somethings know, there is no “avoiding” adulthood when you’re low on energy. That’s why I needed to hit “refresh” to get through this week.
Growing up, I was always the girl who “had it all together”. I have an limitless amount of energy and can easily switch between early bird and night owl. It’s not hard for me to get everything done and then some.
So on weeks where I feel like the monster from the black lagoon, I rely on a few things to get me back into fighting shape when there are meetings to be held, writing to be done, and an apartment to pack up.Read More
Who else is ready to snuggle up with a blanket, hot chocolate, and a book? Nothing has ever sounded as good as a little bit of cozy in my life.
This week has been one of the best weeks in forever. Actually, it might have been one of the best of 2017. It renewed my faith in good things and made me a little less cynical. My therapist would be very proud.
While the last few weeks have been me stressing over finding a new apartment, I am very happy to announce I found a new apartment this week. I’ve been scrambling to find a roommate/affordable apartment, and by the hand of God I found a place on Tuesday that was pretty near perfect.
With faith, anything is possible.
Other fantastic things happened as well (went on a great date, it rained, my skin cleared up) but finding an apartment was truly a godsend as I feel all of that stress fade away. My parents used to have a saying in their bathroom that said, “When you worry, God laughs.” And God has been laughing like a loon at me.
I am so grateful for all the good that I’ve experienced this week, and look forward spending my weekend giving some of it back.Read More
Before we get started I want to celebrate something: The first day of Fall.
If you’re unfamiliar with my love of the autumnal season, just know that I look forward to it all year round. To celebrate I even wore a cable knit sweater today! There’s something about a season that centers on feeling cozy, eating feel-good food, and creating a world of orange, yellows, and browns. And as of today, it’s all I’m about.
In honor of this special day, I’m sharing the small introductions of fall that I made to get myself into the festival autumnal mood.Read More
And we’re back! I am going into this weekend feeling energized, excited, and enjoying a really good book. After weeks of feeling too stretched out, I’m looking forward to a weekend of getting back to my roots.
Highlights of this week were seeing my parents, a pizza party at work, and possibly finding a new apartment. Lows included a major breakout, sitting in traffic for way too long, and our summer intern at work leaving. But overall, a massively good week!Read More
Let’s take a moment to just stretch. Flex your toes, bend your back, and roll your head a few times. Doesn’t that feel better?
In weeks of high stress we rarely take the time to let go of the week. And Friday is the perfect day to do this. We deserve to feel special and important, no matter how the last few days have dragged us down.
This week has been full of highs and lows (high: vacation, facial low: not feeling appreciated at work) and now it’s great to look forward to a nice long weekend to fully recharge.Read More
After a week of many technical difficulties and some unexpected curve balls, I’m finally back to blogging! And in time for Favourites Friday!
This week was crazy as I am preparing for a very fun weekend (check out my Instagram this weekend to keep up!) and was dealing with a lot at work. My biggest lesson I learned this week is that sometimes you’re going to want to have an absolute hissy fit when coworkers upset you, especially when everyone is busy. But now it’s the weekend and it’s time to rejoice!Read More
