10 Tiny Ways to Show You Care

One of my biggest goals in 2017 is to spread kindness, and one of the best ways to do this is to show I care about the people in my life. And they don’t have to be big gestures. Sometimes the smallest actions speak the loudest.

Tiny Ways to Show Care

Why My Mom is My Role Model

Happy birthday to the most loving and classy mom in the world!

Graduation with the woman who honestly kept me from a mental breakdown for three years.

I want to give the biggest shoutout to my mother who spent her birthday (which was technically yesterday) driving five hours to help me pack up my apartment and clean my kitchen because she’s literally the most amazing mom on the planet. Seriously, what wouldn’t she do for her kids?

I am the luckiest girl ever because my mom is more than just my mother, she is my best friend and my role model. If I could be anyone, it would be my mother. She is all the qualities I hope to be and lives a life I aspire to. I couldn’t imagine being something greater than her. You see, as much as I always think of awesome surprises, I actually never pull any. Especially since I don’t like surprises pulled on me. Seriously, if you mess with my plan I will be cranky until I get back on track. My future husband needs to be taking notes.

Anyway, as this is Memorial Weekend and I haven’t seen my family in eight weeks, this seemed an opportune time to come and visit. But telling my family would take away all the fun, so I surprised them. And surprised them as I did, because I’m pretty sure my dad was never going to move when I greeted him on the stairs. Friends, Family, and Food – Perfection

When I was a child, I used to think of growing up. I used to imagine living on my own and coming back during holidays and thinking, “Yes, I’m here now, but I need to jet back to my own fabulous life. Was so nice seeing you!”

Now I am an adult and, let me tell you, my imagined adulthood is very inaccurate.

After being away from home for two months due to university, I’ve found myself enjoying my new life, but missing those back home dearly. So this week has been all about me reacquainting myself with all my lovelies and such. And gaining 100 lbs. on Thanksgiving.
