With spring now in full bloom, it’s time to update the wardrobe.
This spring is really about going outside of your normal wardrobe and having fun with patterns, designs, and styles. If you normally wear all black, try some pastels. If you stick with stripes, try some cut-outs. And if you love wearing jeans every day, maybe stick on a skirt. Play it up!
As we enter spring 2016, it’s time to look at some styles that help us to up our ante when it comes to style. So below are some ideas for how you can be your best spring self this year!
The Enthusiast’s Spring Wardrobe Essentials
1. A patterned trench
Because it’s rainy season, having a coat is a must. But choosing one in a fun print that goes great over any outfit is a phenomenal investment. I love this one from Gal Meets Glam because it’s very classic, yet fun.
2. Denim dresses
Trade your jeans in for dresses. A great denim dress goes with any combination of shoes and bags. Choosing a lightweight denim with a cute pair of bright flats and a crossbody bag makes for the perfect spring outfit, and looks great in a professional or personal setting.
3. Bright coloured shoes
Having a pair of brightly coloured shoes is a must in the spring. Any outfit is spring-ready when you add bright shoes. Having a yellow or red pair is usually the best go-to, but a bright pair or blue or green or pink can be just as fun!
4. Patterned jeans
Jeans are fun, but choosing a pair with a fun pattern is definitely better! Jeans with polka dots, stripes, little sailboats, etc. all are great choices, and pairing them in your normal wardrobe can up your style immediately.
5. White tee + chambray
The perfect easy breezy spring outfit is a white tee and a chambray shirt (preferrably patterned) it’s lightweight and easy to throw on, while still looking effortlessly chic. Pairing it with a pair of dark jeans, shorts, or a skirt just makes the outfit have that much more class.
6. Big floral prints
The best part of spring is it is the time of year where all florals is the most appropriate. So going for big floral patterns on everything is totally okay! I love a dress with a large floral pattern because it looks fun and flirty, while still seeming very appropriate and classy. The bigger the floral, the more fun. The smaller the floral, the more grandma-like.
