Six Days of Smoothies, Six Days of Too Many Smoothies

You know those diets you always see on Pinterest about how to lose weight by drinking weird concoctions that sound like they’ll kill you or taste horrible? Yeah, I did one of those.

I’m not a dieter. Never have been, never will be. And this smoothie diet was not a diet. It was an experiment of eating healthy and not putting extraneous sugars and fats into my meals. And it ended up working really well, until my health got in the way.

NOTE: If what you’re eating is making you faint or sick, start eating regularly again. It’s not worth it.

THE SIX DAY SMOOTHIE CLEANSE ALA MORGAN

I got the idea for this from The 10-Day Smoothie Cleanse by JJ Smith and modified it a bit as someone who has never done a cleanse before. I originally planned on making it a 14 day cleanse (go bit or go home!) but ended up having to make it six because I was getting lightheaded constantly and my health comes first. And the cleanse was really great, I won’t lie to you.

The whole point of the cleanse is to not have extraneous food in your diet. So I went with foods with no extra fats or sugars (peanut butter was only added for protein) and stuck with my fruits and veggies. If you read Smith’s book you’ll see how she defines her smoothie guidelines. For me, I went with a smoothie I’ve been drinking for years and then modified it with Smith’s guidelines a bit.

Here is what my food intake looked like for those six days…

It sounds insane, but I felt great. I lost weight, I felt healthy, and it was cheaper and made for easy meals. I would definitely recommend doing a smoothie cleanse, as long as you keep your health in check!
