My Summer Watchlist

If you didn’t know, during the summer I love to find a TV show and just binge watch it. Last summer, as I recovered from my first stress attack, I become dependent on Bones to entertain me on the long days after drawing blood and being dizzy. And this summer, despite the lack of medical testing, I am being the absolute same way. Although this year, it’s more than just one show that has my attention. So, in honouring the bond we share as blogger and reader, I am going to share with you what I consider the best shows to watch this summer. Trust me, you’ll thank me.

Royal Pains

Hank is fired from his ER job, and it’s lucky that he is now a concierge doctor for the Hamptons, helping out those with wacky illness with wacky amounts of dollars in their pocket. It is the best!

I just started watching it and I am hooked. I love Hank and Evan and Tucker. And considering Tucker is Ezra Miller I love him even more! This show is funny, and is accurately medical, and the plot line is just so interesting. I love stories about snobby rich people! My only issue is there are too many needles.

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit

If there ever was a great show about sex crimes, this was it. This show is the best representation of the criminal justice system, and there’s just enough humour to make it bearable. I am so obsessed.

16 seasons of the best scripted crime television show ever invented. Need I say more?

The Mindy Project

Mindy Lahiri is making her way in the world with her doctor degree, cute doctors in the office, and a love life she just hasn’t figured out. Definitely the perfect girl comedy out there right now.

If you want a cute laugh from one of my absolute favourite women on the planet, this show is definitely for you. I am borderline obsessed with this show and you will be too. It’s funny, creative, has a good plot line, and is just overall entertaining. It was all I watched during midterms and I have a feeling it is the reason I stayed up so late. But let’s just tell everyone else it was because I was studying, shhhh.

White Collar

Neal Caffrey is a captured ex-con man. Watch as he helps the FBI catch more white collar criminals in this hilarious show. Plus, the girl who played Kelly on “Saved By the Bell” is on there, so it’s perfect.

This show was on my recommended list, and one of my best friends always talked about it, so I knew I had to watch it. And I’m so happy that I did! I love Neal and Peter and how there is so little blood and gore that I don’t get grossed out all day. The plots get so creative, and the fact that Neal is so torn between being good and bad is just great television. Definitely something to watch!

Game of Thrones

Follow the Starks and the Lannisters as they fight for the crown. The good guys and the bad guys and everyone’s favourite, Jon Snow. Expect fights, incest, nudity, and just basically everything that makes a television show fantastic.

I was recently introduced to this show by an old beau of mine, and quickly fell in love. I know I’m late to the plot, but I’m halfway through the first season and I’m hooked. If you enjoy blood, guts, betrayal, royalty, and drama in general, you will definitely enjoy this show. And if you’re just starting, you have four season to binge, so there goes your entire summer!

Is anyone hooked on these shows? Anything else I should be keeping my eye on? Let me know in the comments.

Stay classy, Internet,

  1. I think you should definitely try Death in Paradise! I’ve only seen the first two seasons, but I’m in love! It’s just fantastic.
And I think I’m going to try and watch Game of Thrones, but apparently it makes more sense if you read it first!
