50 Shades of Awkward Discussion (A Q&A)

Hello Enthusiasts!

It’s Friday and I’m actually on time with my post! I have been receiving so many questions from the lot of you from Twitter, email and other various forms that I thought today would be a good day to put together another one of my Q&A posts. Always feel free to send me your questions and I will be sure to answer them. Besides, making clever titles for these posts is ridiculously fun.

So let’s begin, yeah?

How are you liking university?

I am loving university! The classes are difficult but I’m making great friends and having so much fun. I was definitely built for university life.

Is it weird living by yourself?

Totally. I’m so used to having my family around, and it’s a bit odd not having anyone to stick their nose in my business or wake me up early or anything of that sort. I like living by myself, yes, but it is weird not living with my family.

You tweeted about the 50 shades re-casting. Why?

For my Media & Society class we have to tweet at least 5 times a week about something media related. In the CNN Entertainment section the article about re-casting Christian Grey caught my eye and I figured it worked for my assignment. Plus, I swear I’ve discussed 50 Shades of Grey about 900 times this week in my classes. It’s so awkward. University is so different from high school.

How do you deal with your stress from school?

I give myself breathers. Last night I had a big essay proposal due, but instead of weighing myself down, I went out for a short dinner with friends and when I finished my first draft, I took a break and called a friend. It’s all about balancing the work and the fun.

What kind of laptop do you have?

I currently have a HP Pavilion dv4. However I am currently saving up for a MacBook Pro for school.

What is the most exciting thing that has happened to you at college so far?

Me and my friends almost were run over by a car on our way to Hirons at 7:30 at night.

Do you have a boyfriend yet?

Camille, you ask this question every time and the answer is always the same. Plus, there are so many attractive guys here it’d be hard to just choose one.

What is your current favorite song?

‘Janglin’ by Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros

Have you gained your Freshman 15 yet?

I think I’ve lost three pounds honestly.

What is an average day at university like?

Wake up, go to morning class, come back to dorm and do some homework, get lunch with a friend, go back to dorm and do more homework, go to afternoon class, do reading for classes, have dinner with group of friends, hang out in lounge/go do something fun, go to bed.

How does it feel to be published twice on HuffPost Teen?

It is honestly shocking. In the past year so many of my dreams have come true and they just keep on coming. It’s been amazing and I wait to see what else will happen. To have been published twice on HuffPost Teen, twice, makes me weak in the knees almost. You can read the two articles here and here. (The second article has almost 3,000 likes on Facebook. I almost screamed.)

Are you going to do a Part 3 of your “How to Boys” series?

I am thinking of doing it, but I’m not sure what to write it about, so recommendations are definitely welcome. Doing this series has been very interesting…and slightly awkward at times.

Are you ever going to choose your ultimate celebrity crush?

I don’t think I can. I would love to but there are just too many attractive, good-hearted males in the spotlight for me to choose. But I will continue searching for the ultimate, no matter how long the journey takes.

Is it hard to blog while at college?

It’s not hard as much as I just have to finish everything else before I write a blog post. But considering blogging is one of my favorite things, I am always able to find time to write about a subject.

Who was your last text message to?

My friend Alex.

What are you listening to right now?

I’m sitting in the lounge in my dorm building and there are a group of guys on the other set of couches listening to some music I do not recognize but is quite good. The violin is quite spectacular.
They are also discussing the talent of Justin Bieber and One Direction. It’s one of the most amusing conversations.

And this has been another spectacular Q&A with Morgan. I’m going to go to my last class of the week and eat more ramen. And faint over the fact that 2,911 people like my HuffPost Teen article.
