Morgan’s Insane Week

I know this is a day late, but once you hear my very valid excuse I’m sure you’ll forgive me.

Or so I hope.

This week started out very normal. You never would have suspected that I would end up having a week filled with events that made being around my laptop nonexistent.

TUESDAY

I got my braces off! After 17 months of having those metal happiness-killers attached to my teeth, I finally have those gorgeous straight teeth I’ve been waiting for! It was a long journey of pain and irritation, but the finished product is more than worth it. My gums are still a little swollen (because they are so sensitive) but otherwise I have beautiful teeth!

After my orthodontist appointment my dad and I hit the road to head to Wallowa Lake to go camping. I haven’t been camping in a long time, but I put on my big girl pants and toughened up. My dad and I had some good father-daughter bonding time. It’s so odd to think that in less than two weeks I won’t be living under the same roof as him. I’m happy that we had this time with just us. I truly am a Daddy’s girl. No shame.

WEDNESDAY

Unfortunately after such a great night camping on Tuesday, Wednesday did not start off as fantastic. My dad came down with food poisoning and I felt really bad for him. So we spent our morning puking and eating bagels, but it was okay. He’s been there for me with all my health problems I had earlier this year. He is the man who came into my room when I had food poisoning in February and tucked me up with all my stuffed animals.

My mom and brother joined us at noon and we spent the day taking walks, playing games at the campsite, and watching this all-black chipmunk that my entire family was somehow fascinated by. It was all they could talk about. Seriously.

During this whole time I didn’t have any service, so anyone who message me probably thought I was being rude. I didn’t bother with telling anyone that I was in the woods with not a signal in sight.

All in all, Wednesday was a good day. But I seriously missed the great indoors.

THURSDAY

Yay! I get to go home! But not before having some more fun with the family. Wallowa Lake has lots of tourist attractions, including mini golf and go karts.

First we tried out go karts. I do not having my license yet, and my family considers me the worst driver because I have the least experience. Well, the worst driver won the first round of go karts and came close to first in the second round (because she started late). Go karts was so much fun and I’m pretty much addicted. Who wants to race go karts with me?!

Mini golf was a bit less fun. And not because I lost. My father is a golf professional and my brother is one of the better golfers in the state. And my mom plays golf. While I always do well the first few holes, after a while I just get frustrated and end up losing. But we had fun! And we ran into people who are from the same town as us, which was a very funny coincidence. Thank goodness I’d showered that morning!

The drive home was uneventful and when I got home I was so exhausted that even though I wanted to start writing a blog post, I couldn’t even list my fingers. So I ended up reading and taking a much needed hot shower with all my girly soaps.

Camping is fun, but nothing compares to home sweet home.

FRIDAY

In the span of seven hours I was as tired as I was from three days of camping. I leave for school in two weeks, which means I need to get my act together and buy all of my university things. So my mother and I headed out to the city for a very hardcore shopping spree.

We shopped and shopping, ate, shopped some more, and then shopped for a bit longer. My knee was about to give up on me (one day I will buy myself a brace) and still I kept on going. Overall, with the bucket load of items I purchased (I will be posting my university list next Friday) I spent $176.76 because of the great deals I found! I literally saved $40 dollars at Bed, Bath & Beyond and had coupons for a lot of the things I purchased, plus there are great sales now.

I came home after shopping and took everything out and was surprised at the massive amount of items that are currently littering my living room (I get to move the mess downstairs once I finish writing this post). I was so tired that the only thing I could do was make sure my duvet cover fit my duvet and eat dinner.

And that is the reason that this post is late! Hopefully you’ll find it in your hearts to forgive me. Plus, next week’s post will not only be on time but will be super cool as it is one of my most requested posts.

I love you all so dearly and can’t wait to see you next week. I’m going to go move $176.76 of stuff down two flights of stairs!

Stay classy Internet,

P.S. Due to request, I will be doing one more live broadcast on YouNow before I leave for school. It’s going to be at 7 pm PST on Tuesday, September 17. As always, I will be answering questions as always, plus giving a lot of college tips and advice! So come watch me be my awkward self!

  1. Yay for braces off, I’ve never had them (yet), but from my friends complaining, I know they hurt! Sounds like you had a busy week.
Go karts are so awesome, but terrifying if you get in those jerky ones (that jerk every single time you brake, even if you brake just a little).
I love that yellow pillow, it’s so pretty!

Thanks for mentioning me in your post about the new design (and other things 😉 ), I appreciate it!
    xo sarah.

      Sarah,

The swelling has gone down and my teeth look fantastic (not to toot my own horn) so it’s been completely worth all the pain. Just imagine little men constantly pulling your teeth for 17 months.
Our go karts weren’t too bad and I pretty much never braked until the end 😉
The pillows are from Costco. On Friday I will have the full list of everything I bought for university.

And of course I’d mention you, you’ve done so much and I couldn’t be more grateful!

My friend used to have braces. Some people make fun of them, but they just get jealous when the person they teased end up with perfect teeth.
