New Photoshop Picture!

This is the poster I made in Photoshop for my favorite book The Perks of Being a Wallflower. How can you make one similar?

Explore new designer collections at NORDSTROM.
  1. Find a picture of your favorite book/movie/CD cover and paste it into a blank document on Photoshop.
  2. Create another document with whatever size you would like. I chose 700×1000.
  3. Pick the first main color in the picture with eyedropper tool.
  4. Select the pencil tool and choose a square brush with whatever size you prefer. Now do a checkerboard-like design for a single row.
  5. Use the next five or six main colors of the picture you selected and repeat step 4.
  6. If you don’t understand, look above. You should be able to figure it out.
  7. Next go to Effects and choose the film grain, customizing it to your needs.
  8. Now type the title of your book/movie/CD cover in the same font and color.
  9. Go to Layer Styles and choose a drop shadow if the type doesn’t show up too well.
  10. And you’re done.
